Constitutional Mandate & Powers
Pursuant to Section 7 of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, the Executive Chairman is democratically empowered as the administrative lead of Olamaboro LGA. The Chairman acts as the chief financial officer of the local council, authorizing municipal budget expenses and receipts under regulatory audits.
Primary Functions
- Checks & Balances: Complying fully with checks and financial regulations governing the receipt and disbursement of public resources.
- Executive Appointments: Directing administrative actions, assigning portfolios to supervisors, and appointing the Local Government Secretary.
- Budget Presentation: Formulating and presenting the annual budget to the Legislative Council at the beginning of the fiscal year.
- Public Accountability: Submitting quarterly income and expenditure statements to the State Auditor and Kogi State Ministry of Local Government Affairs.
