1. Compliance Commitment
Olamaboro Local Government Council is committed to making its digital services accessible to all citizens, including individuals with visual, auditory, cognitive, or physical impairments. We aim for our portal to align with the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA standards.
2. Built-in Usability Tools
To afford advanced usability, we have built a dedicated **Accessibility Panel** (accessible via the floating blue accessibility icon at the bottom right corner of the page). This panel lets you:
- Increase Text Size: Resize the font of headers and body text up to 125% dynamically.
- High Contrast: Toggle high-contrast colors (yellow text on black background) for optimal low-vision legibility.
- Dyslexia Friendly Font: Switch the system font family to a high-readability dyslexic font to help reading comprehension.
- Highlight Links: Outline and underline all link pathways with bold colors for keyboard navigators.
3. Technical Standards
Our portal utilizes modern, clean HTML5 semantics, SVG icon vectors, and keyboard focus states to allow:
- Keyboard Tab-based navigation across all menu items.
- Descriptive labels and ARIA parameters for screen reader engines.
- Clear headings hierarchy using a single H1 per page layout.
4. Feedback & Barrier Reporting
If you experience any accessibility barrier while using this portal or want to submit feedback to our web team, please email us at accessibility@olamaborolga.kg.gov.ng. We aim to respond within 2 working days.
